Friends of Wood Library
Who Are We?
Friends of Wood Library, established in 1963, is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting our library. We’re community members like you, providing crucial volunteers and funds to ensure our library thrives and meets the evolving needs of our community.
What Do We Do?
We provide financial and volunteer support to Wood Library. If you’ve enjoyed an event at our library, chances are we are supporting it somehow through funding or friendly faces helping out.
Our sponsorships reduce event costs, fund prizes for summer reading programs, furnish new library spaces and provide movie licenses for free screenings. We’re also behind popular events like Pursapalooza, Arcade Weekend, the Music in the Stacks series, and our beloved Book Sales. Members even get early access to the book sale!
Why Become a Friend?
Friends help friends. With a $21 annual membership, you support making library events affordable or free for everyone. Plus, you become part of a community that loves and advocates for our library at local and state levels.
Volunteering with us can be as simple as helping out for an hour at an event, or you can dive deeper by contributing your skills to help grow our organization. We need people who have good ideas, are organized, and want to have fun meeting others who love our library. We’d love to have you whether you have a little time or a lot!
