ROC The Day

December 2, 2025

Wood Library is among hundreds of area non-profits that participate in ROC The Day, a 24-hour regional fundraising effort for projects that make our communities stronger and help people thrive.

Keep reading within reach: Support large print books at Wood Library

For many of our patrons, reading is more than a pastime — it fosters connections, fuels curiosity, and creates joy. But for those with vision challenges, standard print books can be difficult or impossible to read. For those who rely on our Books By Mail service, they are a lifeline. That’s why Wood Library’s large print collection is so important.

Large print books open up the world of reading to older adults, people with low vision, and anyone who simply finds larger text more comfortable. Demand for these materials continues to grow — especially as our community ages and more readers discover how accessible and enjoyable large print books can be. Unfortunately, large print books cost significantly more than standard editions — sometimes 30–50% higher. And because popular authors release multiple books each year, keeping our large print collection current and diverse takes real investment.

On December 2, you can help make sure everyone in our community can read with ease and dignity.

Your gift to Wood Library will:

1. Expand our selection of large print bestsellers and new releases

2. Replace worn copies of popular titles

3. Ensure that readers of all ages and abilities can continue to find books they love When you donate, you’re helping people be independent, offering comfort, and supporting lifelong learning.

ROCTheDay for Wood Library, and help keep reading within reach for everyone.

Thank you!
