Wood Library Summer Teen Theater Presents Fifty-Fifty

July 25, 2019 (Canandaigua, NY)—Summer Teen Theater returns to Canandaigua’s Wood Library this weekend with Fifty-Fifty, an original play written and acted by local teens.  The performances are free and will take place at Wood Library, 134 N Main St, Canandaigua, on Friday, July 26, at 7:00PM and Saturday, July 27, at 12:00PM.

With funding from a Finger Lakes Community Arts Grant and in partnership with Bristol Valley Theater, Summer Teen Theater is a unique experience for teens who have an interest in professional writing and performance.  Under the direction of long-time Canandaigua School District faculty John Michalko and Scott Schauman, the program is celebrating its 21st year at the library.

Fifty-Fifty offers a view of 1969 and the future 2069 through the eyes of young people involved in social and political movements in both time periods.  The play asks:  can kids make a difference?

Celebrating 160 years of service to the Greater Canandaigua community, Wood Library, located at 134 N Main St, Canandaigua, is a full-service community library and registered charitable organization serving everyone who resides in the Canandaigua City School District.  Its mission is to provide exceptional public library service in a comfortable and safe environment where people can satisfy their curiosity, stimulate their imaginations, and connect to the local community and to the world.
