Wood Library Program Highlights Relationship between Sustainability and Consumption

February 5, 2020 (Canandaigua, NY)—Wood Library continues its Hobart and William Smith Colleges Speaker Series with a lecture highlighting the connections between sustainability and consumption.  This special event featuring Assistant Professor of Environmental Studies Dr. Robin Lewis is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12, from 7:00-8:30PM, and take place at Wood Library’s Mary P. Hamlin Community Meeting Room, 134 N Main St, Canandaigua, NY.

Dr. Lewis will discuss the complex relationship between sustainability and individual consumption, drawing attention to the ways individual consumption practices shape global outcomes.  She will ask:  Can we consume in a different manner?  If so, how?  Dr. Lewis has a PhD in Geography from the University of Arizona, and degrees in Botany and Geography from Miami University.  She teaches courses on Sustainable Community Development, Sustainable Living, and Geography and the Global Economy.

This is the third lecture in a series of talks by Hobart and William Smith Colleges faculty at Wood Library on Sustainability.  This annual speaker series features informative lectures on topics of community interest.  It is free and open to the public.
