Let's Be Naturalists! is a family-oriented citizen science program led by Wood Library and Cumming Nature Center. During weekly Zoom meetings, participants will learn how to record the animals and plants that they see in nature through field journaling and the kid-friendly naturalist app, Seek. However, some behaviors can present real challenges for caregivers to manage. Canandaigua City School District voters will receive a ballot that must be returned by June 16. A proposition for library funding appears on the ballot. The proposition asks voters to authorize the Canandaigua City School District to levy and collect an annual tax for Wood Library in the amount of $720,268, starting with the 2020-2021 tax bill. The tax levy increase is 2.86%, which amounts to an additional 90 cents on the entire tax bill of a property assessed at $150,000.
