26 Sep Art Exhibit: My Love of Animals & Nature 2019
Marian Gardner will display her work at the Community Room of the Wood Library starting September 22 and continuing until October 25.
She is a local artist who specializes in painting and drawing animals. She also offers commissions on canvas, wine glasses and drawings. There will be an opening reception on Thursday, September 26 at 6:00 PM in the Ewing Family Community Room. The reception is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Whether the artwork is on canvas, paper, or glass, Marian loves to create Pet Portraits for her clients. She enjoys realism and detail when creating her portraits of each animal. One of her favorite mediums is Oil Paints. At the beginning of each oil painting, she draws the image first in pencil. Once the sketch is drawn, the development of dark tones starts in order to heighten the warm and cool tones that are later used. Each painting is focused on color and carefully placed paint strokes. After a layer has dried, she then uses a glaze mixture that keeps the colors vibrant and alive.
The biggest thrill that she receives when creating, is when she starts to see a personality develop in the animal that is being rendered. Once there is a true resemblance and essence in the piece, she then can start to embrace the feeling that the piece has begun to develop.
Commissioned artwork is her passion. If you would like more information on a specific piece or would like a commission done, please e-mail her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
