The Friends of Wood Library is made up of a small group of faithful volunteers and over 300 members. Their contributions fund special library needs such as summer reading prizes, the movie license, landscaping services, a music box for children’s programs, and the preschool art program. In 2017 the Friends sponsored the 5K, Fun Run and Story Walk, Pursapalooza, Library Advocacy Day, Love Your Library Day, and the popular Trivia Nights. The Friends also support and advocate for increases in community-based funding.
The membership year runs from January 1 thru December 31. Payments made in the last quarter of a year are processed as paid memberships for the following year.
The Friends of Wood Library started in the 1960s. It has had several “resurrections” over the years, but in 1999 an enthusiastic group began the new “Friends” with great success (and a lot of fun!). Please join us as we support Wood Library.
