Teen Summer Reading 2013 runs from June 27-August 22. This year’s theme is “Beneath the Surface”. Look for themed programs and events for teens all summer long!
Teen Game Night
Thursday June 13, 2013 / 6:00pm-8:00pm
Grades 6-12: Play video games, board games, card games, or game online. Snacks provided! Teen Game Night happens every 2nd Thursday of the month.
Teen Pizza & Movie Night
Thursday June 20, 2013 / 6:00pm-8:00pm
Grades 6-12: Stop by Wood Library every 3rd Thursday this summer for free pizza and a movie. This month’s feature kick’s off “Beneath the Surface” Summer Reading with the classic, beneath-the-surface adventure, The Goonies (PG).
Summer Reading Kick-Off Party: Life-Sized Clue®
Thursday June 27 , 2013 / 6:00pm-8:00pm
Grades 6-12: Celebrate the start of Summer Reading with a game of Life-Sized Clue! Dress up as your favorite Clue or mystery character for the chance to win prizes. Fancy cookies and punch served… if you dare consume them. Students can sign-up for Summer Reading at the party, or any day after that. Summer Reading runs until August 22.
Make Your Very Own Pet Rock
Friday June 28, 2013 / 3:00pm-5:00pm
Grades 6-12: A “Beneath the Surface” craft: make your own pet rock companion. Materials provided.
Tie-Dye Saturday
Saturday June 29, 2013 / 10:30am-12:00pm
Grades 6-12: Get messy and creative on the library’s front lawn. Bring your own t-shirt, socks or pillowcase, we’ll provide the rest!
All Wood Library Teen programs are for grades 6-12 only, unless otherwise noted. Most programs are open on a drop-in basis (just show up!); some programs require prior registration where noted. Call 394-1381 to register, or for questions about Teen Programming.
