Annual Meeting of the Friends of Wood Library
On Friday, September 20, 2013, the Friends of Wood Library convened their annual meeting at the library’s Ewing Family Community Room. Ellen Hemming, co-President of the Friends, chaired the meeting and recognized the outstanding leadership of co-President Jane Baker, Secretary Julie Macko and Treasurer Marty Daniels. Following a “Friends’ Year in Review” presentation, Jenny Goodemote, Executive Director of Wood Library, highlighted the many ways the Friends promote and provide financial and volunteer support to Wood Library. Paul Bringewatt, President of the Board of Trustees updated the Friends on the building construction project. After a brief intermission for refreshments generously arranged by Caroline Delavan, the Friends journeyed with Jeanne Crane into the “Joys of Travel Fiction.” Jeanne is the author of Celtic Spirit: a Wee Journey into the Heart of It All and recent traveler to Ireland’s spiritual sites. She suggested new opportunities for experiencing the characters, journey and place of “travel fiction”, such as an Irish-themed travel book club and a spring trip to Ireland based on several of the sites in her book.
The Friends of Wood Library elected officers for 2013-2014:
President Ellen Hemming
Vice-President Pat Reece
Secretary Julie Macko
Treasurer Marty Daniels

History of the Friends
The Friends of Wood Library started in the 1960s. It has had several “resurrections” over the years, but in 1999 an enthusiastic group began the new “Friends” with great success (and a lot of fun!). Please join us as we support Wood Library.
