Our ROCtheDay fundraising will focus on outreach to persons who are homebound. Connecting with people and community services are crucial to well-being and quality of life. Homebound persons are often isolated and unable to enjoy a full life or do the things they once enjoyed. Wood Library’s homebound delivery service will help connect older or mobility-impaired patrons with a full-range of library services and programs. An early literacy program of nursery rhymes, songs, fingerplays, and a short story is for toddlers 6 – 24 months old and their parents or caregivers. Registration requested. This 20 minute class is especially for children who are walking and will include movement activities as well as rhymes. Caroline grew up in Canandaigua and this delightful diary highlights our community during a time in our country's history when we were being tested by a Civil War. Come and play with your child at our sensory stations! Sensory play is any activity that stimulates a child's senses: touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing. Children explore and naturally use scientific processes while they play, investigate, create and discover new sensations. This program will incorporate the early literacy skill of play into a variety of sensory experiences. There will be several stations to explore. Caregivers are expected to interact with their child.
