We are pleased to introduce a new program that offers discounts for admission to popular venues around the region. Starting September 12, passes to Rochester’s Memorial Art Gallery, the Rochester Museum and Science Center, and the Genesee Country Village & Museum will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to anyone who has a registered Wood Library card in good standing. We expect to add other venues to the program in 2018 once we gauge the demand for the program.
The Very Important Places (VIP) program at Wood Library is made possible by a generous donation from the family of Lois Saeger. Lois volunteered at Wood Library for many years right up until the time of her death in June. She could be found nearly every week shelving books in the Bill Rayburn Children’s Library, and she was a faithful library advocate and donor. Lois taught at the Canandaigua Elementary School and was a reading teacher at St Mary’s School. She took great joy in helping children learn to read and explore topics that interested them.
The VIP pass can be checked out at the library for a period of seven (7) days. It must be presented in person for the discount to apply.
The benefit for the Memorial Art Gallery is half-price admission for up to 4 adults, and free admission for children up to the age of 18.
The benefit for the Rochester Museum and Science Center is buy one admission and get one free of equal or lesser value.
The benefit for the Genesee Country Village & Museum is valid for standard day-time admission. Purchase one adult admission and enjoy one complimentary admission of equal value. A discount will be applied to the cost of any membership purchased before leaving the museum on the date of the visit.
The VIP pass cannot be placed on hold or renewed. Limited passes are available and they must be returned to the library in person or late fees will be applied.
